Improvements

As spring changes to summer, we are all longing to live life in a more carefree way than we have with Covid-19 looming. And we are each asking ourselves to be better versions of ourselves – accepting and loving of our fellow humans occupying the planet.

“Every year of my life, I grow more convinced that it is wisest and best to fix our attentions on the beautiful and the good, and dwell as little as possible on the evil and the false.” Richard Cecil, English clergyman, 1748-1810

We here at Patricia Nugent Textiles believe that helping create beauty in life is part of our mission. The images with this blog are meant to uplift spirits and encourage better days ahead.

There are improvements we are working on here during these challenging first six months of 2020. I want to let our supporters and friends know that we have had time to create some new services you have requested.

Here is what you can expect over the next few months:

We are creating an online Sales Gallery that will be password protected so people can believe in the integrity of every design in the Gallery.

The designs will be searchable for 5 – 7 key words to help you find what you love and need easily. You will be able to purchase directly from the website with the original art, textile or document shipping to you within 48 hours.

This is a daunting task for us here since the archive, luckily, is rich and complex. We will start with over 900 antique wallpapers and art for wallpapers. We’ll add images of the waxed paper croquis for wallpapers from the 1970’s. These will be the bookends to the Gallery, c. 1790-1970.

Every month we will add more designs based on requests and on how much we can improve our skills at photography, CAD work and adding images to the Gallery. By the end of June, you will be able to click a button or a link to take you to the Gallery. We hope you will visit often as it will be ever changing.

We have reset the studio for virtual appointments with the idea we can also offer in-person appointments. We have proper lighting, better cameras, and set ups for larger art and for smaller documents. (Unlike original art studios where everything is on the same size paper, ours is filled with a variety of sizes and textures, with some things being three dimensional.) I think our set up will feel as much like an in-person appointment as possible until we can get back to hosting Design Teams here.

If you want or need art, you can request a Virtual Appointment or a Design Package. Soon there will be a Button to click to do this, making it easier than ever to request a Virtual Appointment.

Thank you for your patience and support as we make these and other improvements to our services. With the Design Packages, Virtual Appointments, In-Person Appointments (for one person at a time with masks and properly distanced) and the new Sales Gallery we think there are more ways than ever to focus on creating beauty from antique and vintage art from our archives.

We so look forward to working with you again.
