Mexican Summer

We are excited about the theme of ‘Wanderlust’ as an upcoming trend for Spring/Summer 2018. With that in mind, we have our sights set on Mexico! The culture, the art, the music, the food…it’s perfect for Summer inspiration.

A palette of energetic colors balances nicely off of dark grounds and contrasting pastels. The dark grounds really make those bright colors stand out. Regarding pattern work, we are drawn to geometric and floral striping and hand-illustrated prints with a Mexican folk touch. We find the hand-painted circle skirts of Mexico to be greatly inspiring for any illustrations. The lion image above is an example of one from our collection. This theme also encompasses embroideries. Bold, beautiful embroideries are inherent to traditional Mexican dress.  We are feeling particularly inspired by the floral motifs and bold colors!
